The tragic consequence of allowing one small group of individuals in society - those who choose to become medical doctors (M.D.'s) or scientists (Ph.D.'s) - to make life and death decisions for others is that they can become drunk with power and end up exploiting people. Those elitists who would force people to take medical risks or even kill people in the name of the greater good of society cannot and should not be trusted.
Blind faith and trust in those who practice any profession is dangerous, but it is especially dangerous if it requires abandoning individual autonomy and the human right to informed consent. If the birthing rooms and newborn nurseries of the world become killing fields and those who practice science and medicine become the executioners, then it will be a very short time before nursing homes, doctor's offices and public health clinics are legally allowed to stock lethal injections.
History that is not remembered will be repeated. We would do well to remember what happened in pre-World War II Germany, when doctors were legally allowed to kill anyone in society considered to be a threat to the public health and welfare. Are we preparing for the day when doctors can not only kill handicapped newborns but also handicapped older children and adults, including the vaccine injured who face a lifetime of long term care? Anyone the medical elite consider to be an economic liability for society and, therefore, expendable could be a target for elimination in what could become the ultimate free exercise of the utilitarian rationale discredited at the Doctor's Trial at Nuremberg in 1947 as inherently evil.
I remember when the U.S. Supreme Court issued its famous 1973 legal decision in Roe v Wade, siding with the medical doctors and scientists, who argued that life did not begin at conception but only at birth and, therefore, termination of not only handicapped babies but also healthy babies in the womb was not murder. Like many young women, I ignored the warnings of spirtual leaders who argued that legalized abortion was devaluation of individual life and would lead to future legalized murder after birth when an individual's life became inconvenient or expensive.
I caught my breath when I read the following from a British bioethicist commenting how the morality of giving doctors a legal license to kill: "The college’s submission was also welcomed by John Harris, a member of the government’s Human Genetics Commission and professor of bioethics at Manchester University. “We can terminate for serious foetal abnormality up to term but cannot kill a newborn. What do people think has happened in the passage down the birth canal to make it okay to kill the foetus at one end of the birth canal but not at the other?” he said.
Anyone who has had to make the difficult decision of whether to cease employing extraordinary measures to prolong a terminally ill loved one's life knows well the difference between a "do not resuscitate" order and a lethal injection. Perhaps we should have listened a little more carefully to the spiritual leaders who warned that giving the medical profession the power to deliberatey kill before birth would tempt them to seek the power to deliberately kill after birth. In any case, it is time to put the breaks on giving more power to those in society who are supposed to be healers, not executioners.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- An independent analysis by the internationally renowned Cochrane Collaboration of worldwide influenza vaccine studies, published in the British Medical Journal on Oct. 28, concluded there is little scientific proof that inactivated influenza vaccine is safe and effective for children and adults. Citing the Cochrane Collaboration finding as well as methodological flaws in a child influenza vaccine study published Oct. 25 in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), the National Vaccine Information Center is calling on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to stop recommending annual flu shots for all infants and children until methodologically sound studies are conducted.
"There is a big gap between policies promoting annual influenza vaccinations for most children and adults and supporting scientific evidence," said epidemiologist Tom Jefferson, Cochrane Vaccines Field, Rome, Italy, who coordinated the comprehensive analysis for the prestigious Cochrane Collaboration. "Given the significant resources involved in annual mass influenza campaigns, there is urgent need for re- evaluation of these strategies."
The Cochrane Collaboration analysis found that the majority of published influenza vaccine studies were methodologically flawed with selection biases, confounders and heavy reliance on non-randomized studies. The report points out that potential confusion between respiratory infections caused by influenza viruses and those caused by non-influenza viruses can result in misdiagnosis and gross overestimation of the true impact of influenza on death and illness in a given influenza season. The report concluded that too few clinical trials have been conducted to prove vaccine safety and current evidence indicates that use of inactivated influenza vaccine has only a modest or no effect on preventing influenza in the children and the elderly.
"The CDC has pushed mass use of influenza vaccine in all children without scientific evidence the policy is either necessary or safe," said NVIC President Barbara Loe Fisher. "Where is the good science to back up the policy? If the recently published CDC-funded influenza vaccine study in JAMA is the kind of flawed science public health officials are using to convince the public the vaccine is safe, it is no wonder that many parents don't trust what public health officials say about vaccination. The CDC should stop recommending annual influenza vaccination of all young children when there is insufficient scientific justification for it."
The JAMA study, which was conducted by Kaiser Permanente doctors with CDC funding, was a non-randomized retrospective analysis of the medical records of children 6 to 23 months old who were given influenza vaccine as well as other vaccines between 1991 and 2003. Vaccines were not randomly administered and unvaccinated controls were not used. Children's case histories were included in the study only if an HMO doctor had seen them within 14 days of influenza vaccination. Dozens of convulsions and other adverse events, including brain injury experienced by children after vaccination, were excluded from the study if the children had not been seen by a doctor within 14 days of the adverse event or were sick in the weeks before and after vaccination.
Because of arbitrarily chosen cut-off periods, adverse events which occurred before and after different observation times cancelled each other out and were not classified as vaccine-related. In some cases, convulsions and cases of Guillain Barre Syndrome were dismissed as "coincidental" or caused by other vaccines the children received by the 19 Kaiser Permanente and CDC authors -- nine of whom reported financial ties to flu vaccine manufacturers and all of whom received CDC funding.
"Vaccine studies are using increasingly complex statistical techniques rather than time-tested research designs," said NVIC Health Policy Analyst Vicky Debold, R.N., Ph.D. "The JAMA study is exactly the type of study criticized by the Cochrane Collaboration. There were so many limitations and exclusions in the study design that it is nearly impossible to interpret or replicate the findings. The true effect of the influenza vaccine on health outcomes cannot be identified in this single, flawed study, which should not be used as evidence that influenza vaccine is safe for infants and toddlers or to justify national vaccine policies."

Since the 1991 Gulf War, healthy young soldiers have reported severe deterioration in health following anthrax vaccination, including chronic joint and muscle pain, weakness, gastrointestinal disorders, disabling fatigue, loss of memory and ability to concentrate, severe headaches, respiratory and heart problems, and autoimmune disorders that leave them unable to work or live a normal life. Some U. S. soldiers risked court martial rather than submit to anthrax vaccination, or re-vaccination after reactions occurred.
The Pentagon’s mandatory anthrax vaccine program was halted in October 2004 when Washington, D.C. federal Judge Emmet Sullivan cited the FDA for failing to follow FDA licensing regulations. He issued a permanent injunction directing DOD to stop giving the experimental anthrax vaccine to military personnel without their voluntary, informed consent. In December 2005, the FDA issued a new Final Order declaring the vaccine safe and effective, but failed to provide evidence the vaccine was effective against inhalation (weaponized) anthrax, and failed to address published research studies and 5,000 adverse events reports received by FDA demonstrating that anthrax vaccine is causing serious health problems. The National Vaccine Information Center filed an amicus brief in support of soldiers seeking to stop DOD from forcing anthrax vaccinations without informed consent.

Just in case she forgets to wait until she gets married to have sex; or the guy she marries has had sex; or, apparently, just in case the guy she marries has sex with someone else while he is married to her. Can this marketing strategy get any more annoying?
And can these entrepreneuring vaccinologists twist themselves into a more convoluted pretzel with their junk science morality?
The truth is that most boys and girls and men and women who have had sex have been exposed to HPV and clear the virus naturally from their bodies and go on to lead perfectly normal, healthy lives. For the very tiny minority of women who, for unknown reasons, develop a persistent HPV infection, it can be identified through pap smears. Cervical cancer from HPV infection develops only after many years of unidentified, persistent HPV infection. Regular check-ups with pap smears are a much more cost-effective prevention than paying Merck and HPV vaccine patent holders $360 for 3 doses of HPV vaccine to inject into every American tweenager (Merck and the CDC are making noises that they want all pre-adolescent boys to get it too).
I can't wait to see the marketing strategy to sell the AIDS vaccine.

Study Finds Chemotherapy Damages Brain

"People with 'chemo brain' often can't focus, remember things or multitask the way they did before chemotherapy," Silverman said. "Our study demonstrates for the first time that patients suffering from these cognitive symptoms have specific alterations in brain metabolism." - Reuters

It should be no surprise to anyone that when medical doctors inject toxic chemicals into cancer patients in an attempt to "kill" the cancer, it has long term effects on brain and immune system function. Medical interventions, from prescription drugs to vaccinations to chemo therapy, carry an inherent risk of injury or death. That is why no medical intervention should ever be forced on a human being without voluntary, informed consent.
Several months ago, medical doctors trying force a 16-year old boy to undergo chemotherapy against his will, persuaded the state of Virginia to prosecute his parents on charges of child medical neglect for supporting their son's decision to refuse chemotherapy. While a judge ultimately found the parents not guilty, the judge only set the boy and his parents free after turning them over to another medical doctor who promised to work with the family and not force chemotherapy.
Now that the brain damaging risks of chemotherapy are finally revealed, just like the brain damaging effects of anti-depressants, ADHD drugs and vaccines have been revealed, it is time to make it illegal for medical doctors to force medical treatment on U.S. citizens for any reason. There is no freedom more fundamental than the right to voluntarily choose what you are willing to risk your life or the life of your child for when making health care decisions.

Here come the flu fear mongers...just in time for the flu vaccine marketing season! The CDC's cradle to the grave approach to annual flu vaccination for all Americans starts at 6 months of age and does not end until the last breath is taken in the last year of life.
This national mass vaccination policy reaps millions in profits for drug companies. In fact flu vaccine makers depend heavily upon the success of the CDC's marketing campaign, which uses instilling fear and anxiety in the population as its main strategy for persuading all Americans to roll up their sleeves (or roll up the sleeves of their children) and buy the flu shot.
Apparently they are having a problem, though, because lots of Americans are voting with their feet and resisting the cattle call. Many do not believe the hype because the truth is, not many people die of one of the three type A or type B flu strains contained in the flu shot given in America every year. In fact, only 20 percent of all flu-like illness in any given flu season is actually the flu. Most of the flu-like illlness is due to other bacteria and viruses that cause illness looking a lot like the flu. The flu vaccine can't prevent that from happening.
In the old days, everybody got the flu that was going around that year and developed antibodies the old fashioned way. And then when that type of flu came around again a few years or decades later, immunological memory served as buffer so those who had already had experience with it either didn't get it again or it was a lot milder. The flu vaccine marketeers are using fear tactics to try to take away all immunological memory with type A and type B flu from our population. What will that make us? Vaccine dependent, of course.
The flu vaccine should be allowed to float free in the marketplace and be subject to the law of supply and demand. Taxpayer money should not be spent by government employees serving as de facto advertising agents for one of the most profitable industries in the world: the pharmaceutical industry. The danger in all of this is that when public health officials can't persuade the people to do what they want them to do, they have the nasty habit of making sure laws are passed forcing the people to do what they want them to do.
No doubt flu vaccine mandates are coming but, this time, it won't be just for the children.

Many do not believe the hype because the truth is, not many people die of one of the three type A or type B flu strains contained in the flu shot given in America every year. In fact, only 20 percent of all flu-like illness in any given flu season is actually the flu. Most of the flu-like illlness is due to other bacteria and viruses that cause illness looking a lot like the flu. The flu vaccine can't prevent that from happening.
In the old days, everybody got the flu that was going around that year and developed antibodies the old fashioned way. And then when that type of flu came around again a few years or decades later, immunological memory served as buffer so those who had already had experience with it either didn't get it again or it was a lot milder. The flu vaccine marketeers are using fear tactics to try to take away all immunological memory with type A and type B flu from our population. What will that make us? Vaccine dependent, of course.
The flu vaccine should be allowed to float free in the marketplace and be subject to the law of supply and demand. Taxpayer money should not be spent by government employees serving as de facto advertising agents for one of the most profitable industries in the world: the pharmaceutical industry. The danger in all of this is that when public health officials can't persuade the people to do what they want them to do, they have the nasty habit of making sure laws are passed forcing the people to do what they want them to do.
No doubt flu vaccine mandates are coming but, this time, it won't be just for the children.

I don't think so.

When in doubt, hand the antibiotics out was the philosophy of most pediatricians who saw young children in their practices. Now, we learn that when the immune system of a child with an ear infection is left alone to naturally participate in the healing process that follows an acute inflammatory response to infection, most children get well without antibiotics.
Like indiscriminate, mass use of antibiotics "kill" infectious microorganisms has put pressure on bacteria to mutate in order to survive, indiscriminate mass use of multiple vaccines to "eradicate" or tightly control infectious diseases is putting pressure on viruses and bacteria to mutate and become vaccine resistant. The B. pertussis bacteria causing whooping cough and the pneumococcal bacteria causing ear infections are two examples of organisms which are evading vaccines designed to prevent them from causing infection.

In 1991, the National Vaccine Information Center opposed the mandating of hepatitis B vaccine for school entry. Hepatitis B is a primarily adult disease transmitted through contact with infected blood during IV drug use and sexual contact. At the time, public health officials, pediatricians and drug company lobbyists persuaded state legislators to mandate hepatitis B vaccine for school entry because the CDC said infected kids could transmit the virus to other kids when they cut themselves and bled on other children or shared toothbrushes when they had open sores in their mouths. Now, the same forced vaccination lobbyists are persuading trusting but clueless legislators that mandating HPV vaccine for pre-adolescent girls in sixth grade will prevent cervical cancer when the girls become sexually active someday.
Why are the facts about HPV infection and cervical cancer being hidden from the public by forced vaccination lobbyists? Because acknowledging the facts about HPV won't get them more money or power.
The fact is that most sexually active women have encountered the HPV virus, naturally developed antibodies and cleared the infection from their body. Moving on from first blaming cold mothers and then older mothers for the development of autism in children, the M.D./Ph.D. researchers specializing in psychiatry are now blaming the presumably defective sperm of older fathers for the development of regressive autism in children. They are desperate to blame the iatrogenic autism epidemic on everyone but their M.D./Ph.D. vaccine-pushing colleagues specializing in infectious disease, public health and pediatrics.
In a retrospective study looking at 17 year old children born in Israel in the 1960's (when only polio, DPT and measles vaccine was being administered), researchers concluded that older fathers were more likely to have autistic children. It is unknown whether this finding could be replicated when looking at children born in America in 2003, when the numbers of doses of vaccines given to children had more than tripled.
Most children suffering from regressive autism in the past two decades have been born to young fathers and mothers who will struggle as older parents to provide support for their older autistic children.

The FDA, CDC and NIH separately and together cannot be given the conflicting responsibilities of researching, developing, regulating, making policy for and promoting mandatory, mass use of vaccines. In addition, DHHS cannot be totally in charge of choosing, designing, and conducting or monitoring the implementation of studies investigating vaccine risks.
These federal agencies have a too-cozy relationship with the pharmaceutical industry and have turned into nothing more than public relations and advertising agencies for drug companies using taxpayer money to foot the bill. No wonder many federal public health officials retire from the FDA and CDC and go on to lucrative second careers as drug company employees or consultants. Sometimes they don't even wait to retire to dip into the BigPharma cash register. Some M.D./Ph.D. vaccine policymakers personally own patents on the vaccines they persuade the FDA to license and the CDC to label "universal use" vaccines so the states will mandate them and profit making will be immediate and unlimited.
And the M.D./Ph.D. researchers working for HMO's like Kaiser Permanente, which is often paid by theCDC and/or vaccine manufacturers to "study" vaccines and publish studies discounting vaccine risks, are just as guilty. Pity a nation too afraid to hold M.D./Ph.D.officials accountable for writing off millions of chronically ill and disabled vaccine injured children as expendable in the name of "disease control" and the "greater good."

How come you can close down schools when a kid breaks a mercury filled thermometer on the floor and you are going after practitioners of voodoo for using bits of mercury to ward off evil spirits, but you insist on injecting mercury directly into the bloodstreams of American babies through vaccination?
You are guilty as charged for practicing voodoo medicine and voodoo politics on the American people. Going after the First Amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of religion in America, is a clever way of deflecting attention from your regulatory responsibilities to insure that products consumed by Americans are free from toxic substances. An FDA that is paid by the pharmaceutical industry to do its job is not an FDA that is looking out for the public's interest, it is the FDA looking out for its own interest and the interest of its funder: the industry it is supposed to be regulating. Shame on Congress for allowing the drug industry to bully and bribe the only federal regulatory agency standing between the people and toxic drugs and vaccines.
Unfortunately, most drugs and vaccines that have been fast tracked by the FDA since Pharma began funding the FDA in the 1990's are suspect and should have independent confirmation of their safety and efficacy. An FDA that is paid by the pharmaceutical industry to do its job is not an FDA that is looking out for the public's interest, it is the FDA looking out for its own interest and the interest of its funder: the industry it is supposed to be regulating. Meat producers won't have to tell consumers which meats have been bathed in the viruses so everyone gets a dose eating a hot dog at a baseball game or frying up some ham and eggs for breakfast - whether they want it or not. And when Uncle Leo in the Bronx drops dead from a mysterious infection after eating an italian sub at a neighborhood picnic, the story will be: it wasn't the virus infected sausage that did it, it was - A COINCIDENCE. In what is perhaps the most brilliant public relations and marketing strategy ever employed by a pharmaceutical company promoting the universal use of a vaccine most Americans do not need to prevent cervical cancer, Merck & Co. is in the process of pulling off one of the biggest money making schemes in the history of medicine. The Big Pharma giant that brought us death by Vioxx has convinced the FDA, CDC, public school officials and gynecology professors as well as the entire European Union that every man and woman in the world must purchase and be injected with the HPV vaccine in order to survive.
Never mind that the majority of all sexually active humans are asymtomatically infected with HPV and go on to successfully produce antibodies and clear it from their bodies without any residual negative health effects whatsoever. Never mind that only 12,000 American women get HPV related cervical cancer every year because routine pap smears have reduced cervical cancer cases by more than 70 percent in the past half century by detecting persistent HPV infection in the small percentage of women who do not naturally clear HPV infection. Never mind that Merck only tested its HPV vaccine on a few hundred nine year old girls but is now lobbying for all little girls AND boys to be required to get three shots of HPV vaccine - at a cost of $120 per shot - in order to attend school.
If Merck can pull the wool over enough eyes of the dumb sheep we have become, then Merck will rake in more than $3 billion a year worldwide in Gardasil sales alone. That would pay off a good number of the more than 11,000 Vioxx victims and their families now suing Merck in court.
HPV Vaccine: it's unnecessary, it's expensive, it's never been tested for the ability to cause immune system disorders over time, particularly in genetically vulnerable individuals. And yet, almost no one is standing up to ask the question: why are the wheels being greased to make HPV vaccine mandatory for every man, woman and child in the world?
Because like hepatitis B vaccine, which the CDC told pediatricians in 1991 to give to all babies at birth for an adult disease that is sexually transmitted, HPV vaccine is a vaccine the CDC is telling doctors in 2006 to give to all little girls and boys for a disease that is sexually transmitted. Professor Gostin preaches utilitarianism, a 19th century consequentialist theory branded as a pseudo- ethic by the Nuremberg Tribunal after doctors and scientists on trial for forced experimentation on captive prisoners during World War II used the "greater good" defense to justify their actions.
Gostin was paid by the CDC to create the Model State Emergency Health Power Act, which was rammed through many states after September 11, 2001. This legislation took away civil liberties in order to allow state militia to arrest, quarantine and force vaccination and experimental drugs on citizens without their informed consent or access to legal counsel whenever public health officials convince the Governor to declare a public health "emergency." An HIV/AIDS activist, Gostin has stated that "The HIV'AIDS pandemic is probably the defining historical event of the late 20th century and threatens to further define our future." Scared UK Doctors Won't Charge Wakefield

MMR row doctor who defied Government 'in the clear'
It has been eight long years since British gastroenterologist Andrew Wakefield, M.D. and colleagues from the Royal Free Hospital in London published an article in The Lancet urging further scientific investigation into the possible link between MMR vaccine, inflammatory bowel disease and autism in some children. Ever since, Wakefield has been subjected to a vicious personal and professional smear campaign at the hands of public health officials and medical doctors in Britain, the U.S. and Canada, who have no tolerance for scientific investigation into the biological mechanisms for vaccine injury and death.
Britain's General Medical Council (GMC), which is the equivalent of a self annointed Medical Supreme Court, has publicly been conducting an "investigation" for the past two years into whether Andrew Wakefield should be convicted of "professional misconduct" and have his medical license taken away. For the sin of trying to prevent healthy children from regressing physically, mentally, and emotionally after MMR vaccination into autism, the GMC has been determined to make sure he cannot find ways to help autistic children recover from MMR vaccine induced autism.
Now, at the eleventh hour, just before Andrew Wakefield was to have his day in court and publicly defend himself against nearly a decade of baseless charges by those seeking to silence him, the doctors in charge of the GMC have put their collective tails between their legs and run. Just like a common street bully, who blindsides an innocent with a sucker punch in the dark, doctors inside and outside of government and industry are too chicken to stand ground and fight in the light of day. The GMS has apparently figured out it won't stand a chance fighting Wakefield under the bright lights of the media it has duped and exploited in order to hide the child victims of one-size-fits all vaccine policies that end up targeting the genetically vulnerable for sacrifice.
It does not matter anymore what the GMC and doctors in charge of the mass vaccination system in the US and countries around the world do or do not do to Andrew Wakefield. MMR row doctor who defied Government 'in the clear'
It has been eight long years since British gastroenterologist Andrew Wakefield, M.D. and colleagues from the Royal Free Hospital in London published an article in The Lancet urging further scientific investigation into the possible link between MMR vaccine, inflammatory bowel disease and autism in some children. Ever since, Wakefield has been subjected to a vicious personal and professional smear campaign at the hands of public health officials and medical doctors in Britain, the U.S. and Canada, who have no tolerance for scientific investigation into the biological mechanisms for vaccine injury and death.
Britain's General Medical Council (GMC), which is the equivalent of a self annointed Medical Supreme Court, has publicly been conducting an "investigation" for the past two years into whether Andrew Wakefield should be convicted of "professional misconduct" and have his medical license taken away. For the sin of trying to prevent healthy children from regressing physically, mentally, and emotionally after MMR vaccination into autism, the GMC has been determined to make sure he cannot find ways to help autistic children recover from MMR vaccine induced autism.
Now, at the eleventh hour, just before Andrew Wakefield was to have his day in court and publicly defend himself against nearly a decade of baseless charges by those seeking to silence him, the doctors in charge of the GMC have put their collective tails between their legs and run. Just like a common street bully, who blindsides an innocent with a sucker punch in the dark, doctors inside and outside of government and industry are too chicken to stand ground and fight in the light of day. The GMS has apparently figured out it won't stand a chance fighting Wakefield under the bright lights of the media it has duped and exploited in order to hide the child victims of one-size-fits all vaccine policies that end up targeting the genetically vulnerable for sacrifice.
It does not matter anymore what the GMC and doctors in charge of the mass vaccination system in the US and countries around the world do or do not do to Andrew Wakefield. Public health officials around the world are compromising the biological integrity of our young by insisting on achieving "herd immunity" and refusing to acknowledge just how many casualties it takes to do that.
The immoral utlitarian rationale created by British lawyer Jeremy Benthem in the 1800's was then and still is a convenient excuse for elitists in charge of making government policy to use the "greater good" club to dismiss a minority of individuals as expendable in service to the majority. Works just fine if you and your loved ones happen to be in the majority. Doesn't work so fine if you and your own are the one's being sacrificed.
The Nuremberg Tribunal, which put the utilitarian rationale on trial along with doctors they charged with crimes against humanity after World War II, got it right in 1947: no human being - even if they have M.D. or Ph.D. written after their name - has the right to use another human being as a means to an end, no matter how good that end may appear to be. The Nuremberg Tribunal, which created the Nuremberg Code to serve as a guide for the practice of ethical medicine, made it quite clear that it is immoral for doctors to force other human beings to risk their lives in order to advance medicine, science or improve the human condition without their voluntary, informed consent.
Were Anna's parents truly informed by public health officials about the risks of MMR vaccine before their daughter was vaccinated?
Mass vaccination policies dictated by doctors employed by government may have saved many in the past who would have died or been crippled by infectious diseases. But it is becoming clearer that vaccines and one-size-fits-all vaccine policies have also destroyed the lives of many individuals and their families, who may or may not have contracted an infectious disease and may or may not have died or been injured from the disease.
The time has come for government health officials around the world to remove the blinders from their eyes and tear down the stone walls they have built around their hearts and care as much about children, like Anna, who die or are crippled by vaccines, as they say they care about children who die or are crippled by infectious diseases.

HPV infection is asymptomatic and is cleared naturally by the majority of men and women who experience it. Rarely, HPV infection becomes persistent and, after many years, can cause cervical cancer in women. Most cervical cancers are prevented in the U.S. with routine pap smears.
Merck's pre-licensure clinical trials for their HPV vaccine, Gardasil, were methodologically flawed. Merck used a potentially reactive aluminum containing placebo to mask the magnitude of the Gardasil's reactivity. It appears that only about 900 pre-adolescent girls participated in the clinical trials. Merck and the FDA know nothing about the ability of Gardasil to cause long term health problems, particularly autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, in young girls (see an analysis of pre-licensure clinical trials with citations on the NVIC Website.
The CDC's recommendation for universal use of HPV vaccine by all pre-adolescent girls is a profit-making enterprise for Merck and it is a potential health risk for little girls, who may or may not ever become HPV infected. And, if a girl does become HPV infected after becoming sexually active when she gets older, she will have a very low risk of becoming chronically HPV infected. And if she becomes chronically HPV infected, she will have an even lower risk of developing cervical cancer unless she fails to get regular pap smears. Because of routine pap screening in America, there has been a 75 percent decline in cervical cancer since the 1950's. Cervical cancer now accounts for only one percent of all cancers in American women.
Spending billions of dollars to vaccinate every 9 year old girl in America with an HPV vaccine which has not been proven to be safe or necessary is ridiculous.

Abraham Cherrix, 16, has cancer. The first round of chemotherapy almost killed him. After he and his parents conducted independent research into alternative therapies, he told medical doctors at a hospital in Virginia, where he was given the first round of chemotherapy, that he does not want more chemo.
His parents have backed him up. But the medical doctors who gave Abraham the first round of chemo, apparently irate that their orders are being disobeyed, told a state social services agency about his disobedience. Now Abraham's parents have been charged with child "medical neglect," a charge that is often brought against parents who refuse to give their children all of the more than 3 dozen doses of a dozen vaccines the federal government dictates they should have by age six; who refuse to give hyperactive children toxic drugs to control behavior while they are in school; or who refuse to submit children to to other kinds of potentially harmful medical interventions.
A Virginia juvenile court is now deiberating about whether doctors can force Abraham to undergo chemo that could kill him without his voluntary, informed consent or the voluntary, informed consent of his parents.
In an online USA Today poll, in which more than 250,000 Americans weighed in by July 13, 2006 on whether the state should force Abraham to undergo another round of potentially deadly chemotherapy, 85 percent of those Americans voted "NO" to the idea of state-forced medical treatment. Putting themselves in Abraham's shoes and the shoes of his parents, these men and women are voting for the human right to informed consent to any medical intervention which can kill or cripple.
Most Americans don't talk about it much, but when they are asked, a lot of them are tired of being told what to do by M.D./Ph.D. "experts" inside and outside of government who have set themselves up as the judge, jury and police enforcers of what we can and cannot do with our bodies. It is becoming apparent that, as if by the virtue of the letters written after their names and the titles given to them by their colleagues, medical doctors assume they have some God-given right to tell other people what to risk their lives and their children's lives for when making health care decisions.
Reading about Abraham's struggle for the human right to informed consent to medical treatment, I am reminded of what I wrote in the concluding chapter of the book "A Shot in the Dark" which I co-authored with Harris Coulter in 1985:
"We have been taught to trust and believe in our scientists and doctors, to believe they are among the brightest and best in our society. We have willingly given them our respect and accorded them wealth, privilege and power. And we have given them the right to tell us what to do with our children, because we always believed they knew what was best. We have treated them as gods, forgetting they are our fathers and mothers, wives and husbands, sons and daughters. They are us, with all the frailty and ignorance and susceptibility to temptation that is implicit in being human.
"Mothers and fathers in cities and towns across America are entering libraries and reading medical literature on all the vaccines and drugs that doctors prescribe. They are educating themselves about medicine, and in the process they are finding that it is by no means beyong their comprehension. It is becoming clear that their learning may save children's lives. This is an awakening that has been a long time coming, a necessary first step in making medical decisions ar shared responsibility between parents and doctors."

The fate of U.S. soldiers, who refused an order to be injected with the highly reactive anthrax vaccine, is shared by both U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan and the Department of Defense (DOD). Sullivan is the federal court judge in Washington, D.C. who issued an injunction in October 2004 halting mandatory anthrax vaccination of all US military personnel without obtaining voluntary, informed consent.
In February 2006, an appellate court asked Sullivan to decide whether DOD had the legal right to order that the experimental anthrax vaccine be injected into all troops for 14 years before the FDA licensed it for use against inhalation (weaponized) anthrax in December 2005. The DOD was supposed to answer Sullivan's questions at a scheduled June 27, 2006 federal court hearing but DOD requested postponement of the hearing.
Ever since the Gulf War began in 1991, millions of US soliders have been forced to get the experimental anthrax vaccine. There have been tens of thousands of reports of brain and immune system dysfunction, including death, among soldiers following vaccination. After seeing many of their colleagues die and become crippled after anthrax vaccination, more than 400 soldiers refused the vaccine and were court martialed, dishonorably discharged or otherwise forced to leave the military. If Sullivan rules that it was unlawful for the DOD to order troops to take an experimental anthrax vaccine without their informed consent, the soliders who have been punished for refusing to take the vaccine will be able to petition DOD for correction of their service records.
In March, 2005, the National Vaccine Information Center joined with groups representing vaccine injured soldiers and filed an amicus brief in the lawsuit John Doe et al v. Donald Rumsfeld (Secretary of Defense) protesting the lack of informed consent protections in the military's mandatory anthrax vaccination program. The amicus brief specifically addressed the apparently contrived use of the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) under Project Bioshield by the Secretaries of Health and Human Services and DOD to get around Judge Sullivan's 2004 injunction that required the DOD to give soldiers voluntary, informed consent to anthrax vaccination. The DOD and DHHS claimed an "emergency" existed which required supsension of soldiers' right to informed consent to use of an experimental vaccine or drug.
In the amicus brief, NVIC and co-signers, pointed out that "FDA's history of regulatory malfesance with respect to anthrax vaccine, combined with the emergency use provision of the 2004 Bioshield Act, create the scenario for an anthrax vaccine disaster that affects a much larger segment of the U.S. population, and not just the military."
Federal legislation passed since September 11, 2001 has set the stage for forced use of experimental vaccines and drugs in both military and civilian settings whenever the politically appointed Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) declares an "emergency." There will be no recourse to appeal the emergency declaration to anyone, including the courts.. The cavalier use of the EUA by the Secretaries of DHHS and DOD in the case of forced anthrax vaccination of soldiers is a chilling example of what American citizens will face in the future.
Americans would do well to remember why the informed consent ethic is so important to fight for and protect. At the Doctor's Trial at Nuremberg after World War II, medical doctors employed by the German state were put on trial for forcing experimental medical interventions on citizens. Although those medical doctors were tried for incomparable crimes against humanity, the Nuremberg Tribunal wisely understood that the only way to deter all forms of medical exploitation of vulnerable people was to require doctors inside and outside of government to adhere to the ethical principle of voluntary, informed consent. At the trial's end, the Tribunal issued "The Nuremberg Code" to serve as a guide to the ethical practice of medicine.
Vaccination is a medical intervention performed on a healthy individual which can kill or injure that individual. Therefore, voluntary, informed consent to vaccination, in either a military or civilian setting, is a human right.
